Overview
We act for a wide range of clients, including lenders and creditors, as well as companies in financial difficulties. Depending on our role, we act for company directors, shareholders, investors and employees as well as banks and other lenders. In formal insolvencies, we act for licensed insolvency practitioners in their roles as insolvency office-holders - administrators, supervisors, receivers, and liquidators.
We have expertise in cross-border transactions and assignments involving Europe, the U.S.A. and other parts of the globe. Some of this work flows from the Alliance of Business Lawyers (the international network of lawyers that Druces co-founded) and Integra International (an international network of accountants with which ABL has informal ties). Both ABL and Integra cover Europe and many other regions of the world, including the U.S.A. We founded and now co-chair the Joint Business Restructuring and Insolvency Unit of these two related networks.
We provide practical legal advice through the spectrum of turnaround to formal insolvency and are well-equipped to help rescue a client's business using consensual techniques or using formal insolvency procedures such as administration or company voluntary arrangement. Whatever the assignment, our aim is always to use our knowledge of the law to achieve the best practical result for our client.
We can put together cross-disciplinary teams of experts who are able to work swiftly in implementing our clients' commercial requirements and strategies. With experts in corporate law, corporate finance, property, tax, employment and pensions, we are able to service all our clients' transactional restructuring needs.
Our dispute resolution specialists are also experienced in restructuring and insolvency and can provide the litigation skills that are often needed, for example, by the threat of an injunction, or to trace assets for insolvency office-holder clients. We aim to work as part of a team with our clients and their other advisors to ensure the best solutions are identified and implemented swiftly and economically. We appreciate the need for clear communication and swift, effective action in all matters involving business turnaround, restructuring and insolvency.
